The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima visiting St. Teilo’s

The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and the Relics of St. Francisco and St. Jacinta will visit St Teilo's with Our Lady of Lourdes on the weekend of Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of April. Please put the event in your diaries now. The timetable is as follows:


Mass Next Saturday Please note that there will be no 10am Mass next Saturday morning, rather Mass will be celebrated at 1.30pm as we welcome the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, see below for full timings.


Saturday 20th April

1.30pm - Procession and enthronement of Our Lady together with the relics of St. Jacinta and St. Francisco followed by Mass at St. Teilo’s 1.45pm - Recitation and Meditation of the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary (St. Teilo’s)

2.15pm Veneration of the Relics (St. Teilo’s) 2.30pm Tea Break (Parish Hall)

2.50pm Chaplet of Divine Mercy (St. Teilo’s)

3pm Talk on the Message of Fatima (Parish Hall)

4.15pm Enrolment & Investiture of the Brown Scapular (St. Teilo’s)

4.30pm Exposition, Adoration and Benediction (St. Teilo’s)

6pm Vigil Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church: After post communion prayer: Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.


Sunday April 21st

10am Sunday Mass at St. Teilo’s after post communion prayer: Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

11am Veneration of the Relics of St. Jacinta and St. Francisco (St. Teilo’s)

11.15am Documentary Film: Fatima: Message of Hope. (Parish Hall)

12 Noon Farewell to Our Lady (St. Teilo’s)


Confessions

Due to the visit of the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, there will be no confessions on Saturday morning. Confessions will take place as usual on Saturday evening at Our Lady of Lourdes

The next Baptism Course takes place at St. Teilo’s Hall on Wednesday, May 15th and completes on Wednesday, November 22nd at 7pm. Both sessions will last around an hour. The Annual Torchlight Procession in honour of Our Lady at Belmont Abbey will take place on Wednesday, May 15th at 9:00pm. This year, the guest preacher will be Fr. Royston Price CSsR. As we did last year, we will share travel with St. Mary of the Angels and Holy Family Parish. The pickup from St. Teilo's will be from outside the Church at 6.00pm. If you would like to attend, please sign the sheet which is at the back of the Church as soon as possible.

Suzie Rees, Membership Support Officer for the SVP, is to make an appeal for new members at all Masses on the weekend of April 27th and 28th . Interested parishioners will then be invited to a meeting in the parish hall at 7pm on Wednesday, May 1st , at 7.00pm for more information.

We will have coffee, tea and biscuits in the St. Pope John Paul II Chapel at Our Lady of Lourdes after the 10.00am Mass and Stations of the Cross on Wednesday, May 1st . If you are at the Mass on that day, please stay behind and spend some time socialising and sharing with our fellow parishioners.

Next Saturday, May 4th , is the first Saturday of May. We will therefore celebrate the First Saturday devotions after the 10am Mass. May is the month of Our Lady, so it is a very special time to take part in these devotions if you have not done so before. There will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament during the devotions and confessions will be available.

Next weekend the Church celebrates World Communications Day. This year, the theme is: “Artificial Intelligence and the Wisdom of the Heart: Towards a Fully Human Communication”. To mark World Communications Day, there will be a second collection at all Masses next weekend to support the communications work of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.

This year, a group from the Archdiocese will be taking part in the Cardiff Bay 10k and raising money for the Priest Training Fund. The event will be taking place on May 19th – Pentecost Sunday and the group is taking the collective name: ‘Follow the Flame’. Liam Kelly, from our parish, has agreed to be part of this group and he will be asking you for sponsorship.
