Parish Funeral Guidance
A resource for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. We appreciate that this may be a very sensitive time for your and your loved ones, and hope that you will find the information useful. Please be assured of our prayers at this delicate time.
Our faith teaches us that the funeral is the final journey before we arrive home - it is also a very important part of the grieving process. And whilst some different beliefs often involve looking backward, we as Catholics celebrate the life of our loved one; but also we look forward to the eternal life to be continued in Christ. and His resurrection. The funeral service allows us to let go of the mortal remains, by returning them, in trust to our Lord Jesus who has created each one of us.
Why Planning a funeral is important
We recognise that this period of time is extremely sensitive, and so we are very happy to meet with you or your loved ones to offer pastoral care. Fr. John encourages you to contact us and receive the warmth, love and practical guidance available from the parish. Fr. John and his team will help with the planning of the funeral for the person who has died; this will involve the celebration of the life of the person. Please don't feel overwhelmed, we can help you with many of the formalities
Following the death of a loved one.
