Chrism Mass

The Chrism Mass, at which the Oils for the Church's Sacraments throughout the year are blessed, and at which the priests of the Archdiocese renew their promises, is celebrated at the Cathedral in Cardiff on Tuesday at 11.30am. The Chrism Mass is the central occasion of the Archdiocesan Year and is a great celebration of the life of the Archdiocese. Once people have been to the Chrism Mass, it tends to become a pivotal part of their practice of the faith. So, if you have not been before, why not go along and try it for yourself? The Chrism Mass will be the Parish Mass on Tuesday. There will be no Mass at St. Teilo’s.
The next Baptism Course takes place at St. Teilo’s Hall on Wednesday, May 15th and completes on Wednesday, November 22nd at 7pm. Both sessions will last around an hour. This month, the WRB Ecumenical Prayer Group is meeting next Saturday, April 27th , from 10.15am to 10.45am. The venue this month is St. Andrew’s Methodist Church, Birchgrove. Please come and join with our Christian friends from the other churches in the area for a short time of prayer and fellowship.
There will be no Knit and Natter group meeting this week as the Hall is being used for a Deanery Clergy meeting on Thursday. Knit and Natter will resume on Thursday, May 9th.
The confirmandi are undertaking preparation for their reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday, July 7th . Please keep the candidates in your prayers as they experience in a new way, the coming of the Holy Spirit in their lives. The confirmandi’s names are Amelia, Anne, Bianca, Charles, Daniela, Frank, Gabe, Joshua, Laurie, Madalena and Tommy.
Due to the Funeral Mass for Bernadette, there will be no Mass, nor coffee and tea after Mass this Wednesday. We will resume normal arrangement on Wednesday, May 1st .
Suzie Rees, Membership Support Officer for the SVP, is to make an appeal for new members at all Masses on the weekend of April 27th and 28th . Interested parishioners will then be invited to a meeting in the parish hall at 7pm on Wednesday, May 1st , at 7.00pm for more information.

The Parish Rosary Prayer Group meets on the last Thursday of each month at 2.00pm in Ty Mair, 19 Heol y Waun CF14 1LB at the junction of Heol Gabriel and College Road. The group members have intercessory prayer, read and discuss the following Sunday's Gospel, pray the Rosary, pray the 3 o'clock prayer and the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and have a cuppa! The next meeting takes place this Thursday, April 25th . All are welcome to attend.
The Parish Charismatic Prayer Group takes place at St. Teilo’s on Tuesday, April 23rd, at 7pm . All are welcome to come along on Tuesday, for a time of prayer and praise in the Parish Hall, upstairs at the back of the Church.
In 2023, St. Teilo's with Our Lady of Lourdes raised £1,902.67 through our Red Boxes and donations to Missio and the Mill Hill Missionaries. Thank you! Our missionary community here at our parish is part of a worldwide network of people supporting missionaries overseas through prayer and financial assistance. Your support of Missionary Priests, like Fr. Ignatius MHM who works with a rural community in Uganda, enables people to come together to celebrate the Eucharist and to work together to improve the lives of the whole community. The photo above are some of the delightful bunnies and chicks given out to the children at the Easter masses. The Parish Knit and Natter group will meet at St. Teilo’s Hall on Thursday, April 11th following the 10am Mass. All are welcome to come along and join in the knitting or the nattering or both!
Many thanks to everyone who attended our Craft Fayre, Saturday 18th November, it was great turnout and we are so pleased to announce we raised a grand total of £725.34 for the church. Here are some photos of the event:
