"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptised persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a Sacrament"

If you are planning to be married in the Catholic Church, you will be required to attend a marriage preparation course, please see the details of the courses below: 1. FOCCUS© marriage preparation sessions take place throughout the year, with the day and time of the sessions being agreed between the couple and their facilitator. 2. In-person ‘Preparing Together’ days are being delivered on the following dates: • Saturday, 10th February at St. Michael’s Centre, Abergavenny • Saturday, 20th April at St. Helen’s Church Hall, Caerphilly • Saturday, 15th June at St. Illtyd’s Church Hall, Dowlais Couples can book a place on the aforementioned courses online by going to the Marriage Care website at https://www.marriagecare.org.uk/marriage-preparation-2/

Are you celebrating a significant wedding anniversary? Or are you at a significant stage in your marriage, e.g. new baby, illness, empty nesters, retirement, bereavement etc… The Archdiocesan Thanksgiving Mass for Marriage is being celebrated for ALL married (and engaged) couples in St David’s Cathedral on Saturday, October 7th , and you are all invited. You might also consider having your anniversary date included in the Mass booklet and share photographs to form part of a reflective presentation. For more details, to share information and to express your wish to attend, please contact Joanne White via flc@rcadc.org . You can still be included even if you are unable to attend in person and the Mass will be livestreamed via the Cathedral website.

Retrouvaille: A Programme for Couples Struggling in their Marriages Help Your Marriage – Do you feel alone? Are you frustrated or angry with each other? Do you argue … or have you just stopped talking to each other? Does talking about it only make it worse? Retrouvaille is a programme to support couples who have difficulties in their marriage. It brings a positive focus, new hope and helps nourish and develop your marriage. Tens of thousands of couples headed for divorce have successfully saved their marriages by attending and using the tools provided. The programme helps spouses uncover or re-awaken the love, trust and commitment that originally brought them together. It helps them through difficult times whether they are disillusioned or in deep misery. There is no group therapy or group work.
