Today is Mothering Sunday. We may not be able to celebrate with our Mothers and Grandmothers this year, but we rejoice with them even in their absence.
Today is also a time to give thanks to God for our children, families and friends. As we will not be able to give out flowers or cards, as we normally do, we can instead pray a spiritual bouquet together.
After the private Mass Canon Isaac celebrated this morning at St. Teilo’s, he lit a candle in front of the altar for all the mothers, grandmothers and ladies of the parish.
Let us pray:
Dear Lord, bless all our Mothers and Grandmothers on this Mothering Sunday. Bestow your love and blessing upon them, through Christ Our Lord.
We thank you for all the love our Mothers and Grandmothers give to us both in our parish and our families. We thank you for the gifts of love and tenacity that all women give to the Church. We thank you for their dedication and faith. Today we ask Our Blessed Mother to pray for and with all women that they may follow her example and bring their loved ones to know and love the Lord Jesus.
