Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Our Parish welcomes the full participation of all of our children in the celebration of Mass
Our Parish welcomes the full participation of all of our children in the celebration of Mass.
Special provision, in the form of Children’s Liturgy of the Word, is made at the 10.00am Sunday Mass at St. Teilo’s during school term time. By coming to their own Liturgy, children listen to the Gospel, pray together and share an activity to help understand the Good News they have heard at a level that is appropriate to their age.
There are two groups, the Little Angels for children from 3 years old up to First Holy Communion and the Young Disciples for children who have made their First Holy Communion. In each group the children are encouraged in a positive experience of discovery and understanding, leading them to know Jesus and to recognise his love in their lives.
The Children’s Liturgy group is run by volunteers, parent Catechists, who have been DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked and who wish to pass on their Catholic faith.
It is not intended for parents to regularly attend with their children.
If your child is attending for the first time you may wish to make the Leader or Helper aware of this before leaving your child. If your child does not settle immediately, don’t worry, it is best to leave it a few weeks and try again, particularly with younger children.
