Rest in Peace – Dick Dicketts

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Eric (Dick) Dicketts. Dick was a committed, faithful and much loved member of the parish community at St. Teilo’s he will be greatly missed by many of us.

The coffee morning planned for today (Sunday 17th) which would have celebrated Dick’s 97th birthday has been cancelled.

Dick’s Requiem Mass will take place at 10.30am on Friday the 15th of March.

Mass cancelled on Saturday (16th February)

Please note that due to Canon Issac being bed-bound due to his suffering from a very heavy cold and a deep chest infection there will be no Mass at St. Teilo’s on Saturday the 16th of February.

Confessions and the Altar Servers Practice are also cancelled.

Priests have been found to cover the weekend so Mass on Saturday Evening and Sunday will continue at the normal times.

Our Lady of Lourdes Church – Patronal Feast – 11th of February

Monday is the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, celebrated as a Solemnity in the Church of Our Lady of
Lourdes in our parish. On Monday, the parish Mass for the solemnity will be celebrated at Our Lady of
Lourdes Church at 10am.

The celebration of Our Lady of Lourdes, February 11th, is the World Day of the Sick, an observation
started by Pope St John Paul II as a way for believers to offer prayers for those suffering from illnesses.
People around the world take the time to pray for the sick and for those who work very hard to alleviate
the sufferings of the sick on this day. The first healings in Lourdes occurred during the Apparitions of
1858. They have not ceased since that time. The healing of bodies, however, cannot overshadow the
healing of hearts. Both the sick and the healthy find themselves in front of the Grotto of the Apparitions:
they are united through the exchange of smiles, through the sharing of gestures and prayers.

To mark the World Day of the Sick, the Sacrament of the Sick will be offered during Mass on Monday – why not come along to pray for all the Sick.

St Teilo’s Day

Saturday is the Patronal Feast of St. Teilo’s Church.

The day will be celebrated in the Parish with a solemn Mass at 10am.

Please come along to pray for our parish and its role in sharing the Gospel of the Lord with the people of our time, just as St. Teilo did in his own time.
