This weekend, the Fourth Sunday of Easter, is traditionally known as ‘Good Shepherd Sunday’.
In common with the Church throughout the world, we are asked for pray for vocations, especially in our Archdiocese. Many have been asking the Lord to give us vocations. Those prayers have been realised. After several difficult years we now have six major seminarians.
The Archdiocese of Cardiff receives no financial help to train our priests. This is a challenge for all of us as we try and plan for the future.
At Mass this weekend you will be given a letter from Archbishop George Stack. As announced at Mass last weekend there will be a second collection for the priests’ training fund.
Envelopes are available if you want to gift aid your donation. The collection will remain open until next weekend. If you are not ready to make a donation this weekend a basket will be placed at the back of church next weekend where you can place your donation, please mark clearly as ‘vocations fund’.
If you would like to know more about vocations to the priesthood or religious life, the Archdiocese has launched a website, which you can access here.
The National Office for Vocations website can be accessed here.
