‘The Light Is ON For You’ This Advent
This Lent the Archdiocese of Cardiff is once more holding the initiative called ‘The Light is ON for You’ during Advent.
Each Wednesday during Advent churches are to be opened and the parish priest is to be in his confessional so as to afford the Christian faithful, particularly those unaccustomed to celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation or who may have been away from the practise of the Faith for many years, to have opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament.
This initiative is an opportunity for grace and renewal and will be observed in the parish on Wednesday 3rd and Wednesday 17th December, before and after 7.00pm evening Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes, and on Wednesday 10th and Wednesday 17th December from 7.00pm to 8.00pm at St. Teilo’s.
The Archbishop has determined that this initiative is held in every parish. It is an opportunity for us who use this Sacrament regularly to increase our love for the Lord in the Season of Advent. It is also an opportunity for those Catholics who have stopped going to Confession to be welcomed back. We all need the Grace of this Sacrament in our lives.
More information is available on the Archdiocesan website.
Additionally, there will be an extra Mass each Friday morning during Advent at 7.00am at St. Teilo’s. This is for the convenience of those who go to work or school. Use this opportunity to come to the early Mass each Friday, include it as part of your Advent preparations. The parish Mass, usually held at 10.00am, will still take place.
