Saturday 11th February is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. Every year, 11th February
is marked as World Day of the Sick, an observation that was introduced by St. Pope
John Paul II, and celebrated for the first time twenty-
It is celebrated every year on the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes, and for all believers seeks to be “a special time of prayer and sharing, of offering one’s suffering.” (From St. John Paul II’s message for World Day of the Sick in 1993.)
The 6.00pm Mass on Saturday 11th February at Our Lady of Lourdes will be offered for all the sick and housebound of the parish. A special invitation is made to all those who care for, nurse or pray for the sick, to attend this Mass. To mark this Patronal Feast of the Church, we will have a drinks reception, with a glass of wine or fruit juice, at the back of the Church after Mass.
