Gift Aid is a government initiative that allows charities to claim back the basic rate tax already paid on donations by the person donating the money. This means the parish can claim back from the government 25p for every £1 donated, which means your donations are worth 25% more than you actual give, at no additional cost.
For those already in the scheme, the certificates for the financial year ended 5th April 2017 are available at the back of the church. Thank you very much for your support.
If you have not yet joined and you are a UK taxpayer, you can join today by filling in the form, which is available at the back of the church. The system allows the parish to reclaim the tax you have already paid without any effort or commitment on your part. It is completely confidential and requires no more than placing the amount in the numbered envelope, which we will provide, instead of placing it in loose in the collection basket. You can vary the amount you donate each week. If you are unable to make a donation, please destroy the envelope. It will have no effect on your commitment to the scheme.
If you would like to know more, please contact a member of the Finance Committee, who will be at the back of the church after Mass.
