Situation During Fr. Isaac’s Convalescence
Fr. Isaac has undergone his scheduled eye surgery and is currently convalescing away from the parish. He is in good spirits and extends his thanks to all who have wished him well and remembered him in their prayers.
While we are waiting for him to recover, Masses have been provided as far as possible by other priests. However, regrettably, due to sudden illness this past week, there have been unexpected circumstances where the advertised Mass has not been able to take place. I would ask parishioners to regularly check the newsletter and postings at St. Teilo's for updates.
I would also like to announce that in such situations where Mass is not possible, from now on, the community will be invited to come together for Rosary and Lauds (Morning Prayer) from the Divine Office. Holy Communion will not be distributed in these cases (Ref. Congregation of Divine Worship document Redemptionis Sacramentum #166, 25th March 2004).
We are progressing into an era where maintaining the status quo will become increasingly more challenging in coming years, so we appreciate your support and encourage you all to continue to pray for vocations. I will continue to be resident at the parish and assist wherever possible.
I would also like to take the opportunity to express my appreciation for the patience and generosity of parishioners during this period.
