First Holy Communion 2018
At the 11.00am Mass on Sunday 20th May, the Solemnity of the great Feast Day of Pentecost, some of our young parishioners celebrated their First Holy Communion.
Alys Smith, Amelia Aviles, Amelia Parsons, Elin Russell, Gabriel Roberts, Gonzalo Bengoechea, Jaime Bengoechea, Helen Hanna, Imogen McNamara and Miriam Bakayo were joined by friends and family and the parish community, to receive Jesus for the first time in the Eucharist.
Mr Dan Morris, a consultant ophthalmologist at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, attended the First Holy Communion Mass and received the children’s donation of £250 which they raised recently at their cake sale.
Mr Morris works to reduce world blindness, running an eye project in Kenya and recently starting a community link with the people of Tororo in Uganda. We wish him well in this important work and congratulate our First Holy Communion children for their interest and contribution to this worthy cause.
We pray that the love our children have for Jesus in the Eucharist will enhance their lives and sustain them in their lives.
